Oxib' (Sounds New 2026 Album Release)
Parameters
Duration: Up to 10 minutes per work; around 5 minutes is preferred.
Membership: Must be an active NACUSA national and Sounds New Member (joining after November 1, 2025). Performer-member or composer-member required; living composer pieces preferred and performer-member must secure permissions or get their composer to join NACUSA and Sounds New.
Audio Quality: Submit professional-quality WAV or AIFF files (44.1 kHz or higher). Do not send mp3s or mp3s converted to WAV; these will be automatically rejected, especially if they contain distortions, digital artifacts, or frequency cutoff issues.
Original Files: Send original files, we will not transcribe audio from streaming services such as Sound Cloud or YouTube.
Noise Floor: Excessive noise floors can prevent a work from being programmed when the noise obscures critical performance details or proves distracting. Direct cuts from noise to complete silence (whether with or without performance) will result in non-programming.
Rights: By submitting, you confirm that you own the master recording and grant Sounds New, and any partnered entity, permission to distribute the track as part of the Oxib' album, for chapter installations, or as a non-monetized YouTube virtual recital. Selected participants will be required to sign a contract for final inclusion.
Materials: Send your strongest work. Studio or live recordings are acceptable. Electronic compositions are welcome.
Programming: Submission does not guarantee inclusion.
Submission Limit: Up to two files per member, usually a maximum of 1 will be programmed (if selected).
Album Length: We need a minimum of 50 minutes of total music to release the album. If we receive many strong submissions, a second disc may be released.
